KidXpedition was built on a simple idea: kids learn best when they're having too much fun to notice they're learning.
Born from a Classroom, Built for Every Child
KidXpedition started in 2016 when our founder, a former early childhood educator, kept noticing the same thing: kids lit up during hands-on projects and checked out during passive instruction. She wanted to build something different — programs so engaging that children would beg their parents to go back.
What began as a single after-school cooking class at a Pasadena preschool grew into seven distinct academies, a team of passionate educators, and partnerships with over 50 schools and childcare centers across Los Angeles and Orange County.
Eight years later, the mission hasn't changed: create the kind of childhood moments that kids carry with them forever.

Maria Reyes
Founder & Executive Director
Maria spent over a decade as an early childhood educator before founding KidXpedition in 2016. She holds a Master's in Child Development from UCLA and has trained hundreds of educators in play-based facilitation. She lives in Pasadena with her two kids, who are her most honest program critics.
